About The West Usk Lighthouse
The West Usk Lighthouse provides lovely, homely, bed and breakfast accommodation comprising of just four rooms, in the unique setting of a lighthouse which dates back to 1821. It was decommissioned in 1922, and after conversion to various private residences and periods of disrepair, the current owners bought it in 1987, and have lovingly restored it into the B&B it is today. It is now a grade two listed building.
The lighthouse is located near the City of Newport, Gwent, lying at the junction of the river Severn and the Usk Estuaries, and overlooking the Bristol Channel. The hot tub outside is perfectly set to make the most of the beautiful views that are on offer.
Visited by Hotel Inspector, Alex Polizzi in 2008, the B&B was under threat, but owners Frank and Danielle worked with her to restore it's fortunes and have since seen the business flourish.
